At the tender age of twenty, Marke heard John Hartford’s Aereoplain album and immediately decided banjo was the instrument to learn how to play. He stuck with it and now is considered one of the tastiest banjo players in the Southern California region. He is featured in the widely distributed Mel Bay Banjo Anthology book, has transcribed for a Rounder Records CD, currently performs and records with three bands and various solo projects, and fills in the remaining time as a theatre musician.
Upon returning from a two month musical tour of Europe, during which he played with an Italian Band in Lucca, Italy, performed and recorded with Ray O’Sullivan in Brussels, and performed with The Bluegrass Boogiemen in Amsterdam, he contacted Beth to form Last Transit.
He also adds rhythm and lead acoustic guitar, dobro, bouzouki and vocals to complement the Last Transit sound.
